Overview
Students are provided with the opportunity to become a 'real world' investigator during this foundation unit. Through engagement with peers, lecturing staff and the socio-technical world around them, students will develop base skills in investigation ethics and philosophy, evidence-based practice in investigation forensics, and begin to understand the nature of accidents and disasters, and latent pathogens in socio-technical systems.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
There are no requisites for this unit.
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Feedback from SUTE Feedback
The only SUTE comment was that the teacher was amazing, friendly and very approachable.
It is recommended to keep being approachable to students. Extra help was offered and taken up by several students this term in order for them to fully understand the learning outcomes. This seems to have been appreciated and valued by the students.
Feedback from Student Evaluation Scores
Student evaluations scores were all in the 100% range for this term.
It is recommended to keep the structure, delivery style and practical assessment criteria for this unit as it appears to be well appreciated by students.
