Overview
In this unit, you will study the gross anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, lymphatic, digestive, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, urinary, and reproductive human body systems. You will apply this knowledge in laboratory sessions using anatomical models and plastinates through a series of practical exercises. You will study homeostatic mechanisms and physiological responses in the human body. In addition, you will gain an appreciation of the integrative nature of anatomy and physiology of the human body with special emphasis on the study of the pelvic region and the lower limbs.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
This unit is for students from these courses only: CB66 - Bachelor of Health Science (Allied Health), CB84 - Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours), CB85 - Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), CB86 - Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours), CB87 - Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours), CM17 Bachelor of Medical Science (Pathway to Medicine), CG93 Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Clinical Physiology)
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Feedback from SUTE and Unit Coordinator reflection
The usefulness of feedback has generally been rated lower than other aspects of the unit. This may partly reflect the timing and nature of assessment feedback, as automated quiz feedback is released after the quiz closes and may not always be accessed by students, while feedback from the final practical assessment is often unavailable before students complete the unit evaluation.
Consistently remind students when quiz feedback is available, encourage them to review their responses and ask questions, and continue to provide practical-style activities and formative feedback throughout the term to support preparation for the practical assessment.
