Overview
This capstone unit will provide you with an opportunity to examine and critique current health practices issues prior to your entry into the Medical Laboratory Science professional workforce. Your study will focus on the contemporary legislative, social and economic trends in the Australian Pathology profession that will impact on your practice. You will be required to exhibit ethical decision-making and clinical/professional reasoning at a graduate level, in preparation for practice.

CL10 enrolled prerequisites: BMSC13001 Advanced HaematologyANDBMSC13002 Advanced Clinical BiochemistryANDBMSC13003 Medical Microbiology 2ANDBMSC13009 Immunology OR BMSC13023 Applied ImmunologyANDBMSC13010 Pharmacology OR BMSC13020 Drug Discovery and Clinical TrialsANDBMSC13011 Advanced Transfusion Science OR BMSC13015 Molecular Targeted TherapiesANDBMSC13016 Advanced Histopathology and Cytopathology CM18 enrolled prerequisites:Minimum of 24 Credit Points successfully completed from LMED Level 1 units
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
