Overview
This unit builds on other pathology related units in the course, as well as Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis 1. You will study non-musculoskeletal patient presentations, starting from the point of first contact with the patient, through history taking and physical examination, and finally to the formulation of a diagnosis. Through this process, you will also continue to develop your knowledge of common pathologies of each body system. By the end of the unit, your problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills will have improved.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
Pre-requisite: CHIR13010 Systems and Pathology
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.
Feedback from In person and SUTE
The students felt the unit will run better if it was amalgamated with systems and pathology (CHIR13010).
It is recommended to amalgamate the two units and disseminate the content between the two terms.
Feedback from In person
The students felt that the unit needs to have a recap of the foundational knowledge.
It is recommended that the unit coordinator create a short video resource outlining the foundational knowledge and relevancy to chiropractic.
Feedback from In person and SUTE
Students reported that the implementation of case-based learning activities could enhance their learning experiences and acquisition of knowledge
It is recommended that the unit coordinator identify and embed case-based learning opportunities in subsequent years of delivery.
