General Information

Overview

Advanced Clinical Neurology and Diagnosis builds upon your knowledge and understanding of the human body which you achieved through your undergraduate studies. In this unit you will focus upon the clinical presentation of neurological conditions which may be encountered in chiropractic practice. You will develop an understanding of the pathophysiological processes underlying neurological symptoms and signs at clinical presentation, and extend your skills in the interpretation of these changes through client history and physical examination.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

It is recommended that the unit coordinator set clear expectations for assessment requirements and question styles at the beginning of the term.

Some students reported the unit achieved their expectation of learning neurology while indicating satisfaction with the overall flexibility and accommodation of students' needs.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the unit coordinator continue to strive to facilitate neurology content at a high level, which is expected at a post-graduate level while being mindful about the students needs.
