General Information

Overview

This unit will introduce you to advanced clinical assessment, combining the skills of clinical history taking with those for physical examination, whilst incorporating knowledge of cultural and linguistically diverse populations. You will synthesise clinical information while integrating underpinning knowledge of common pathologies and pathophysiology in the critical care context. You will be able to formulate an appropriate clinical management plan to treat the critically ill or injured and employ reflective practice principles to effectively revise ongoing management plans as required. You will also critically reflect upon the leadership skills required at a critical care level.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Recommendation

Nil change is required as per the isolated feedback and narrative writing is a recommended style to express critical thinking and reflective practice.
