Overview
The unit aims to develop your ability to integrate the knowledge, physical skills, principles of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning, ethical and professional behaviours that are necessary for you to function competently as a physiotherapist. This will include a variety of settings and client groups, with an emphasis on effective and client-centred management plans, within the framework of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
To enrol in this unit you must be enrolled in the CB85 Course and meet the following pre-requisites: PSIO13002 Professional Physiotherapy Practice 1 PSIO13003 Professional Physiotherapy Practice 2
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Recommended Student Time Commitment
Each 12-credit Undergraduate unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 25 hours of study per week, making a total of 300 hours for the unit.

Assessment Grading
This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Consult the University’s Grades and Results Policy for more details of interim results and final grades.

Written assignment topic is solely related to New Graduation positions within the Queensland Public Health system. Only about 25-30% of graduates gain employment within the Public Health system each year.
Recommended to include a Private practice job application as a second choice to the written assignment.

Clinical Placement run throughout the year from late January to early December and some may occur outside of term times. You may be required to travel outside of your home town to complete clinical placements. Placements are allocated by the Physiotherapy Clinical Educator Coordinator in accordance with requirements set by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. You will be notified of your clinical placement allocation once you have meet all pre-requisites for Professional Physiotherapy Practice 4.
1 Professional Practice Placement
Week 12 Friday (11 Oct 2019) 11:45 pm AEST
At the completion of their clinical placement from your Clinical Educator.
1. A minimum total score of 49.5% for the combined domains of Professional Behaviour and Communication AND
2. A minimum total score of 49.5% for the combined domains of Assessment, Analysis and Planning, Intervention, Evidence Based Practice and Risk Management.
If you don't meet the above criteria for the Clinical Placement you will be eligible to sit a Clinical Exam, provided you have achieved an overall grade equal to, or higher than 44.5% for your clinical placement. The Clinical Exam is in the format of an OSCE that will be completed on a real or simulated patient within the area that you completed the clinical placement. The Clinical Exam will be assessed by two clinical educators, one or more will be a CQUniversity Physiotherapy academic. The exam will run for approximately 60 minutes and will be assessed on the APP.

2 Written Assessment
This written assessment gives you the opportunity to complete a New Graduate job application for either Queensland Health or a private practice 'Anysports' and submit your resume. Feedback will be given for you to consider prior to applying for any physiotherapy positions.
Description
You are required to submit a completed statement (maximum 2 pages) on how your experience, abilities and knowledge would enable you to achieve the key responsibilities and meet the key attributes of either the New Graduate positions at Queensland Health or Anysports. Refer to the job adverts for more details.
You are also required to submit a 1 page Cover letter (Queensland Health only) to accompany your application and your Resume/CV including referees.
