Overview
The unit aims to develop your ability to integrate the knowledge, physical skills, principles of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning, ethical and professional behaviours that are necessary for you to function competently as a physiotherapist. This will include a variety of settings and client groups, with an emphasis on effective and client-centred management plans, within the framework of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
To enrol in this unit you must be enrolled in the CB85 Course and meet the following pre-requisites: PSIO13002 Professional Physiotherapy Practice 1 PSIO13003 Professional Physiotherapy Practice 2
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Recommended Student Time Commitment
Each 12-credit Undergraduate unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 25 hours of study per week, making a total of 300 hours for the unit.

Assessment Grading
This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Consult the University’s Grades and Results Policy for more details of interim results and final grades.

Clinical Placement run throughout the year from late January to early December and some may occur outside of term times. You may be required to travel outside of your home town to complete clinical placements. Placements are allocated by the Physiotherapy Clinical Educator Coordinator in accordance with requirements set by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. You will be notified of your clinical placement allocation once you have meet all pre-requisites for Professional Physiotherapy Practice 5.
1 Professional Practice Placement
Week 12 Friday (11 Oct 2019) 11:45 pm AEST
At the completion of their clinical placement from your Clinical Educator.
1. A minimum total score of 49.5% for the combined domains of Professional Behaviour and Communication AND
2. A minimum total score of 49.5% for the combined domains of Assessment, Analysis and Planning, Intervention, Evidence Based Practice and Risk Management.

2 Written Assessment
This written assessment has been designed to show you how you have grown over your five clinical placements. As you should know very well by now, reflective practice is very important for clinicians, how else will you improve and grow as a physiotherapist.
Description
You are required to write a reflective essay on the completion of your final placement. Using the same challenges that you selected and critically appraised for your PPP1 reflective essay. Now reflect on how you have effectively addressed these challenges and how you have progressed throughout your five clinical placements.
Ensure that you include critical appraisal of the literature to support your reflections and strategies that helped you to improve in the areas you addressed.
Structure of Report and Presentation
Cover Page – include Name, student number, course, assignment title, word count, due date.
Sections of the presentation may include but not necessarily be limited to:
a. Introduction – outlining and describing the reflective subject, setting the topic.
b. What does the literature say? What is the available evidence?
c. What was the relevance of this to your clinical placements and how did you reflect and respond throughout your clinical placements and what strategies did you use to improve your practice.
d. Conclusions
e. References according to the APA referencing system.
Week 7 Friday (6 Sept 2019) 4:00 pm AEST
End of Term
Detailed marking criteria will be available on the unit moodle site, and will be based on the following:
- Presentation (30%)
- Reflection (40%)
- Literature to support reflections (30%)
The assignment must be within 2250 - 2750 words. Failure to meet this requirement will incur a 5% penalty off the initial mark for this assessment.
