General Information

Overview

PROGRAM STRUCTURE The Graduate Certificate in Research consists of a single unit which is flexible, and can be taken in either full-time or part-time mode. This means the structure of the course relies on study time and overall progress towards portfolio activities, rather than credit point accrual. The single unit includes a range of compulsory and elective topics for you to study.

Recommendation

The unit coordinator will continue to structure group meetings with the discipline supervisor and the student to ensure the Individualised Learning Plan represents the student's research interest area and skill development

Feedback from Student

Feedback

I had a great team behind me, the unit coordinator plus my academic discipline supervisor, without their advice my research topic would not have been so well developed

Recommendation

Teaching team will continue to liaise with academic supervisors and student to develop the Individualized Learning Plan via group meeting process.

Feedback from Unit coordinator

Feedback

Some students require different teaching and learning approaches to develop clear understanding of concepts and to see relevancy of theoretical concepts to practical applications

Recommendation

Explore a range of discussions and examples to tease out explanations and encourage students to reflect on past experiences to attempt to attach relevant meaning and reduce the theory/practice divide.
