Overview
In this unit you will continue your development of introductory level technical, creative and performance skills within the context of the presentation of a publicly performed theatrical work. Each succeeding unit in Production will require you to demonstrate a greater degree of interpretative and executant skill development. You will have the opportunity to broaden your technical, creative and performance skills in theatre through participation in various creative projects. This may include collaborative or solo creative projects, as well as those with a social innovation goal. You will be required to document the outcomes of this project as part of your personal performance website that you will build upon throughout your course. The building of the content within this website will enable you to critically reflect on your development as a theatre practitioner and to showcase your knowledge and skills to reach your desired career outcomes.

There are no requisites for this unit.
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Recommended Student Time Commitment
Each 6-credit Undergraduate unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 12.5 hours of study per week, making a total of 150 hours for the unit.

Assessment Grading
This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of 'pass' in order to pass the unit. If any 'pass/fail' tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully ('pass' grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the 'assessment task' section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Consult the University's Grades and Results Policy for more details of interim results and final grades.

1 Practical Assessment
Task:
- You will be required to undertake performing/technical roles in the major production(s) for term 2.
- Performing roles (all solo and ensemble roles) are allocated by the guest director for the production after the completion of the designated audition period.
- Technical roles are allocated by the guest director in conjunction with the course coordinator. Expressions of interest for specific technical roles may be sought by the unit coordinator, and you may choose to nominate for one of these roles.

2 Project (applied)
In this part of your production unit, you are to demonstrate your active participation in a creative project associated with your development as a theatre practitioner. This creative project cannot be a professional theatre engagement.
Length: Minimum commitment of 24 hours across the term (approx 2 hours per week)
Approval: All creative projects must be approved by the Unit Coordinator by Friday of Week 5. Use the quiz in Moodle to describe your creative project and provide details for approval.
The creative projects could include, but are not limited to:
- Participation in the Choices Applied Theatre project touring to schools
- Participation in the Safety Circus tour to schools
- Participation in the Applied Theatre research project
- The QT Scene Project
- Participation in a performance/creative/film project with a community arts organisation
- Unpaid internship or placement
- Teaching assistant with the Con Academy
- Self-devised creative project
- Participation in a technical theatre creative project
- Participation in a film project with a digital media student/group

Part A: Develop a professional performer website (15%)
- Choose a template from freely available website creation software
- Add your head shot and a minimum of 5 other performance photos
- Include your contact details
- Include a performer's bio suitable for a theatre program
- Include a longer performer's bio suitable for a website
- Include a curriculum vitae (CV) suitable for an audition
- Include details of your creative project from this term including description & photos
Length: 750 - 1000 words
This assignment requires you to reflect on the creative project that you have participated in this term. Important aspects of this creative project need to be included in your performer website, where you can include photos and/or video.
Part B: Format for reflection
- This reflection should be uploaded as a Word document, not PDF.
- Use Times New Roman 12 point font, double spaced.
- You may use sub-headings as required.
- In-text referencing should be included using APA 7th edition.
- Include a reference list according to the style guide for APA 7th edition.
- You may include diagrams, tables, pictures if appropriate.

- Gen AI can be used for content editing.
WORD COUNT for written assignments: The word count is considered from the first word of the Introduction to the last word of the conclusion. It excludes the cover page, abstract, contents page, reference page and appendices. It includes in-text references and direct quotations.
