This course is available to students who wish to exit from:

  • Bachelor of Medical Sonography/Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography (CG91)
  • Bachelor of Medical Imaging (CG92)

This course will enable students to exit with a Bachelor of Health Science (Imaging). This will support career paths into health related service careers.

Students attend work-based learning for varying durations with mandatory health and security requirements as detailed in the parent courses.

CG91 Bachelor of Medical Sonography/Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography

Students gain credit for 120 credit points as per the compulsory unit listing and select from a further 24 credit points from the elective units listing to reach a total of 144 credit points for this award.

Course Structure 2 - Elective Elective

Number of units: 4 Total credit points: 24

Students planning to exit from CG91 Bachelor of Medical Sonography/Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography or CG92 Bachelor of Medical Imaging through this exit award cannot use these elective units as credit towards their parent course award. 

Students planning to exit from CG91 Bachelor of Medical Sonography/Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography or CG92 Bachelor of Medical Imaging must complete an additional 24 elective credit points from a cognate discipline (in addition to the 120 core credit points listed above from the parent course). Please note that students must undertake at least 18 elective credit points from Level 3 units as part of this 24 credit point study plan.

The final study plan will be subject to the Head of Course approval.
