Core Structure

Number of units: 3 Total credit points: 24

Students studying part-time must undertake the subjects in the following order: 1. NURS20160, 2. NURS20163, 3. NURS20164.

NURS20160 and NURS20163 may be undertaken at the same time.

NURS20164:

Mixed-mode Students: NURS20164 incorporates a 5-day (40 hours) residential school held on campus at the end of the term.

Internal Students: 40 hours of education in the clinical learning centre will occur on campus throughout the 12 weeks of term.

All students must complete 40 hours of on-campus clinical learning before attending work-integrated learning. If students cannot complete the 40 hours, they must wait until the next term the unit is offered to reattempt the on-campus clinical learning.

Students will complete 240 hours of work-integrated learning in the clinical environment. Please note work-integrated learning will commence after week 12 of the term. Also, there may be a break between week 12 and commencing your work-integrated learning. Student rosters will be at the discretion of the facility, it is expected that students work all shifts types. It is likely that students will be required to travel to attend work-integrated learning.

Students must complete the following three core courses: NURS20160 The Nurse Professional; NURS20163 Australian Identity and Nursing Care; NURS20164 Australian Clinical Nursing Practice.
