The Master of Medical Ultrasound does NOT provide the student with accreditation from the Australian Sonographer Association Registry (ASAR) to practice as a qualified sonographer or echocardiographer. This Master of Medical Ultrasound is for entry by qualified sonographers and echocardiographers pursuing expert knowledge and skills.

Students must choose MEDS21003 Medical Science Research Project 1 as one of their four options if they have not passed a unit in research as part of their Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography or Graduate Diploma in Echocardiography.

Credit can not be obtained for any unit which formed part of either the prerequisite graduate diploma in medical sonography or the prerequisite graduate diploma in echocardiography. The student must have completed eight (8) post graduate units as part of their graduate diploma AND will choose an additional four (4) units from within the Master of Medical Ultrasound unit options.
