The Foundation Studies Course aims to provide students with the foundational knowledge and skills required to successfully cope with the demands of undergraduate study in Australia. The course has been designed for students with an international education background seeking entry into Business or IT undergraduate degrees.
Students will explore a range of core discipline concepts and develop useful academic communication and university study skills. They will participate in dynamic learning contexts that will require them to work individually as well as collaboratively, in face-to-face and online environments. The activities and assessments also aim to develop life-long learning and transferable skills, by providing opportunities for oral and written communication, self-reflection, critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork.
On successful completion of the Foundation Studies Course, students will be able to apply for entry into first year of a CQUniversity undergraduate Business or IT degree.
The Foundation Studies Course is a pathway to undergraduate studies. It provides students with general academic skills and core concepts that will equip them with a solid foundation for further studies. The main opportunity available to successful Foundation Studies graduates is the possibility to access an undergraduate degree.
