Leadership Capstone is the final unit in the CQUni MBA (Leadership) course which is split into two distinct parts: Part 1: CapsimGlobal Simulation - International Business Strategy (Capsim® Management Simulations, Inc.). CapsimGlobal is an international business simulation that evaluates your performance using a balanced scorecard. You wil make decisions about research and development, marketing, production and finance, to learn how the different functional areas of a business interact and effect one another. Numerous international business components like; shipping costs, tariffs, and fluctuating currency exchange rates will be integrated into the simulation, as you compete against five computer-controlled competitors for market share in the USA, Germany, and China. Each country competing in the simulation has starting conditions ranging from established markets (USA) to emerging markets (China). Each country has unique customer preferences. An ‘onboarding’ process is used to familiarise yourself with the situation inherited, along with how to make decisions in a global context. This experience of operting you own company will develop your business acumen. Part 2: Applied Business Report This part of the unit provides you with an opportunity to conduct some applied research into a business problem or to investigate a business opportunity. This is a valuable chance to demonstrate your capacity to make the transition to becoming a successful business manager and leader. This unit draws upon your wider knowledge of business environments both locally and globally. You are expected to demonstrate a capacity to conduct an independent, investigation to a professional standard. Choose whatever business discipline or disciplines best inform the problem or opportunity you intend to investigate. Then you will review and analyse secondary and primary sources of information related to the topic you select. You are encouraged to explore a subject relevant to Social Innovation. This activity involves developing research questions, analysing data and information to identify solutions, and provide insights to make sound recommendations. This advice will build on your previous learning in this course and forms the basis for developing a professional business report. This report represents an opportunity to showcase your capacity to research and synthesise relevant ideas, theories, models, frameworks, and cases to demonstrate the depth of what you have learnt throughout the MBA (Leadership) journey.
