CHIR20011 - Clinical Practice 5

General Information

Unit Synopsis

Clinical Placement 5 provides students with their fifth block of practical experience with a chiropractic clinic. Students will work as a functional team member under minimal guidance of the clinic supervisors. They will build on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills learnt in the previous four clinical units of the course and will therefore be expected to demonstrate this increased knowledge and skill by contributing to patient assessment and treatment. Students will be expected to actively contribute to clinical decision making and treatment and to be able to undertake many tasks independently. Students may apply to be considered as an 'intern' and be granted a higher level of patient privileges with less supervision. The intern experience is a valuable bridge between university and professional practice.
