COMM28001 - Globalising Social Capital

General Information

Unit Synopsis

The solution to tomorrow's problems can be linked to the network of global communities around you today. To maximise your ability to operate within these communities you need to know where values and common interests are shared and where the opportunities for social capital networks exist. This unit examines the construction of advanced communication practices and how these practices develop and build powerful social capital communities and networks. Specifically, you will reflect on communication as a resource of social capital and apply this knowledge to your own networks. You will also consider how social capital can be incorporated into both professional and personal aspects and create capacity for social change and impact (social innovation) in commercial and community organisations.
