ENCL11002 - Light Vehicle Drive Systems

General Information

Unit Synopsis

This unit will cover safe work procedures and methods of diagnosing, servicing and repairing significant components of light automotive equipment in a workshop environment. You will learn how to develop and implement safe work procedures for the removal and fitting of a vehicle engine. The unit will cover the investigation, inspection and servicing of transmissions and driveline components. You will examine suspension, steering, wheel balancing, brakes and braking systems and then conduct practicals to implement servicing and repairs of these systems. Practicals will be completed on-campus providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge required for the investigation, servicing and repair of significant light automotive systems. Lectures and online resources will prepare you for practicals. At a higher level, on completion of your practicals, you will be required to reflect and report on your learning.
