This unit will cover advanced principles, procedures and methods of diagnosing, servicing and repairing light automotive equipment in a workshop environment. You will learn how to investigate, diagnose and repair engine forced induction systems and final drive assemblies. The unit will cover the development and implementation of safe and sustainable procedures for the servicing of air conditioning systems. You will diagnose and repair a range of systems that contribute to the efficient and sustainable operation of a light vehicle engine. The unit will also cover the development and implementation of safe work procedures for wheel alignments. Practicals will be completed on-campus providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge required for the investigation, diagnosis, servicing and repair of advanced light automotive systems and components. Lectures and online resources will prepare you for these practicals. At a higher level, you will reflect and report on the learning and teamwork you experienced in the practicals.
