Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Source: SUTE
Feedback
The unit coordinator was a great teacher and supported my learning.
Recommendation
Continue to provide my best efforts as a unit coordinator to support students with quality learning and teaching experiences for their development of midwifery practice.
Action Taken
The unit has been delivered to a consistent standard including Zoom sessions for assessment tasks and emails replied to in a timely manner. This also includes support for those students with adverse circumstances.
Source: SUTE
Feedback
The aspect of this unit which needs improvement is the spacing between assignments for the last term coursework. We had 3 of the biggest assignments all due within a week of each other. This was a particularly stressful time whilst trying to wrap up the course.
Recommendation
Reconfigure assessment due dates for greater spread across the term.
Action Taken
Submission dates for assessments have been spread across the term to enable students more time to complete coursework to aim to reduce stress levels.
Source: Verbal feedback from students gained on clinical placement site visits.
Feedback
Three students have highlighted that more use of real world and experiences linked directly to clinical practice would be beneficial.
Recommendation
That study guides, assessments and activities involve increased scenario-based learning relevant to transitioning to midwifery practice as well as provide opportunities for critical thinking, problem solving and resilience building.
Action Taken
Nil.
