Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Source: Unit coordination reflection.
Feedback
Pre-clinical session content was appropriate and timely but not all students internalised the content or applied it during the clinical placement unit.
Recommendation
Review and further expand on pre-clinical session, incorporating direct information and interactivity to promote student engagement.
Action Taken
Pre-clinical session was expanded upon with additional time allocated to interactive sessions.
Source: Student feedback and unit coordinator reflection.
Feedback
Post-clinical debrief session was a valuable experience for students. However, group size was so high that some students did not feel comfortable sharing their experiences.
Recommendation
Investigate the option of timetabling additional sessions so that student numbers in each session will be reduced hence supporting and nurturing student interactivity and engagement.
Action Taken
The post-clinical debriefing sessions were conducted with smaller groups resulting in the sessions being well attended and received by the students.
Source: Student feedback and unit coordinator reflection.
Feedback
The adaptation of small groups for the post-clinical debrief sessions better supported student attendance, interaction and sharing of experiences.
Recommendation
Continue with the provision and timetabling of post-clinical debrief sessions in small groups.
Action Taken
Nil.

Feedback
The provision of a combination of audio and written News forum postings may improve student satisfaction.
