Students will reinforce the radiographic procedures taught thus far by practical experience in the clinical workplace. Skills and knowledge will be applied through clinical placements within Radiology/ Medical Imaging departments. Students will apply critical analysis skills to their image production and practice radiography in a safe manner with due regard to radiation and patient safety. Competency based assessments and professional performance evaluations will provide benchmarks for the performance level of the student. Critical appraisal of performance and radiographs produced will assist students to develop their skills of analysis. Students will maintain a professional manner and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.

Successful completion of all year 1 courses of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging and MEDI 12xxx Imaging Procedure (new course) and MEDIxxx Science and Instrumentation 1 (new course) Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability.
