General Information

Unit Synopsis

This is the capstone unit of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging course. In this unit you will consolidate your technical and behavioural skills to practice holistically as a radiographer. You will demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and as an effective team member across a range of work environments and procedure areas, operating at the level expected for entry to practice as a registered practitioner.

Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Clinical site supervisors may benefit from more detailed information on CQUniversity assessment tasks.
Recommendation
Provide targeted communications to clinical supervisors to encourage them to complete our online CPD module ‘Clinical Supervision of the CQUniversity Medical Imaging Student’, which outlines the tools and processes used in our clinical placement units.

Clinical supervisors were encouraged to complete our online CPD module 'Clinical Supervision of the CQUniversity Medical Imaging Student' via an email from the WIL office.

Feedback
New assessment criteria (in Assessment 2 and Assessment 5) reduced the number of assessments being returned to students due to inaccuracies or incompleteness. This allowed for more efficient marking and timely feedback to students.
Recommendation
Continue to include the new assessment criteria for Assessments 2 and 5 in future offerings to support efficient marking and timely feedback to students.
