General Information

Unit Synopsis

This unit builds on the foundational nursing knowledge, skills and dispositions developed in NURS11149 – Foundations of Nursing Practice 1. Students will have the opportunity to undertake simulated and actual patient assessment, planning and implementation of nursing care. Students will be expected to function within the scope of practice of a nursing student in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse (2006) during compulsory clinical placement. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
