Working within the nursing laboratory and a variety of health care settings, you will develop knowledge and abilities in biopsychosocial assessment, planning, delivery and the evaluation of nursing care in meeting the needs of individuals and families adapting to long term alterations in health at all stages of the lifespan. You will be expected to function within the scope of practice of a nursing student in accordance with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) competencies during the compulsory three (3) day residential school or timetabled internal nursing laboratories as well as 160 hours of clinical placement, 80 hours sub-acute and 80 hours community care.

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Each 12-credit Undergraduate unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 25 hours of study per week, making a total of 300 hours for the unit.
