Feedback
Students appreciated being able to select their own therapeutic intervention to investigate and practise.
Recommendation
Assessment tasks where possible should allow students to choose their own topic.
Action Taken
Students were given one-on-one zoom sessions to assist in discussing, selecting and developing portfolio topics.

Feedback
The Practice Portfolio was tricky to put together. I did not like using Mahara, it was time consuming and I struggled to upload files. It was disjointed.
Recommendation
Unit coordinator to provide more guidance and assistance to students in using Mahara or investigate introducing alternative portfolio software.
Action Taken

Unit learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:

  1. Analyse a variety of models of psychosocial interventions which inform co-constructed personalised care such as motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment.
  2. Apply evidence-based principles (best available evidence, consumer preferences, and clinical context) to evaluate the use of therapies, medication regimes and frameworks informing mental health nursing practice.
  3. Plan interventions and establish goals with the consumer to promote recovery.
  4. Identify, develop and evaluate advanced therapeutic interventions relevant to recovery in different situations and contexts of care..
  5. Idenitfy and reflect on the implicit and explicit theories driving your practice.
