NUTR29004 - Clinical Placement

General Information

Unit Synopsis

In this unit, you will undertake 10 weeks of full-time supervised clinical dietetic placement within a hospital setting. On placement, you will apply the theory and knowledge gained from your studies to deliver real patient-centred care and practice. During your placement experience, you will gain a range of clinical skills, from the management of clients suffering from chronic disease to complex conditions, specialised areas of practice and the management of a full caseload. Consequently, you will acquire the skills necessary for competency in the delivery of medical nutrition therapy to a level of safe practice that is deemed suitable for an entry-level dietitian.
