In this unit students will work within an interdisciplinary team focusing on holistic case management related to chronic disease. The students will continue to assess, diagnose and manage a range of clients with pathology and will be expected to be able to present clinical cases and explain the underlying pathophysiology and their clinical reasoning with respect to assessment, diagnosis and management. As a matter of continuous development, students will be expected to advance their professional skills including practice management, communication skills, and generic health professional skills. Where required, students will now dispense lower extremity orthotic devices in the management of the patient.

This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade).
