Unit Synopsis

This course is part of the sequence of courses that culminates in the degree of Master in Clinical Psychology. As a follow-up to the Clinic Team I course, this course is intended to provide additional basic, supervised practice skills necessary for working as a Clinical Psychologist.

PSYC21007 - Clinic Team I 

Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

To expand the clinic to include more consultation rooms, toilets and a lunchroom.

The clinic expansion completed before the commencement of Term 1, 2022 included the addition of 5 more consultation rooms, toilets and a lunchroom.

Expectations for report writing format varies between supervisors.
Recommendation
Develop a set of consistent standards for supervisors to apply to report writing expectations.
Action Taken
Supervisors developed a set of consistent standards and clear expectations for report writing, documented in the new 'Guide to Completing a Comprehensive Needs Assessment' complied by the supervisory team.

Students indicated that Team Time was a valuable addition to the placement that supported their learning.
Recommendation
Continue Team Time as part of the placement.
Action Taken
Team time continued this year (one hour/week) with students using the time to share learning and do 'snack writing' to keep up with their assessment report writing.
