International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Source: Assessment
Feedback
Drafts to be accepted up until week 10. The previous offering of SCIH14001 outlined that drafts would be accepted up until week 8. This was extended until week 10 for term 1, 2022, giving students the opportunity to submit drafts further into the term.
Recommendation
Students should be encouraged to submit draft proposals and presentations as early as possible but the final date to accept drafts should remain in week 10.
Action Taken
Students were encouraged to submit drafts of the written assessment task for feedback from the Unit Coordinator earlier in the term, as reflected by the unit schedule.

Feedback
Presentations by guests and past students. Students enjoyed occasional appearances by guest lecturers who presented on topics related to their research. Students also expressed an interest in hearing from previous honours students.
Recommendation
CQUniversity researchers and past honours students should be invited to present as guest lecturers where appropriate.
Action Taken
Student attendance at weekly drop in sessions was sporadic but pre-recorded guest presentations were used to enrich unit content.
