About Me


Professional Experience

Dr Ezaz Ahmed received his PhD in HRM from the School of Management, University of South Australia. He is the Head of Discipline, Management and Human Resources Management and Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Law at the Central Queensland University, Melbourne Campus, Australia. Dr Ahmed is a skilled academic with experience researching and teaching HRM and Management courses at post-graduate/ MBA and undergraduate levels. He has also completed the Graduate Certificate in Effective Online Course Management from the University of Oxford, UK. Key industry engagements and academic leadership:

- Dr Ahmed is a Certified HR Professional by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI)

- Member of Research Advisory Panel, the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI)

- Chair, Organisational Behaviour Stream, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) Conference 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Dr Ahmed has authored more than thirty five journal articles and refereed blindly reviewed conference papers. His research interests are managing employees’ psychological contract, workforce management, leadership, employees’ ethical behaviour and employee well-being. Dr Ahmed is actively involved in national, international and industry collaborative research projects including obtaining research grants, presenting research papers in international conferences and publishing in academic journals. He has received competitive research grants (CQU Merit Grant, Early Career Researcher Grant, Grant for Strengthening ICT4D Research Capacity in Asia and Social Science Research Council, Ministry of Planning, Government of Bangladesh) and industry collaborations are the key aspect of the research projects that he is involved in. He is a reviewer for the Academy of Management (AOM), USA, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) and academic journals. Dr Ahmed is also a member of editorial boards for academic journals and has served in organising committees of International Conferences. He was an invited keynote speaker at international business conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and at the Gladstone Regional Council on World Harmony Day 2013.

Prior to Dr Ahmed's appointment with CQU, he was an academic and researcher specializing in Human Resource Management at the University of South Australia, Adelaide and at the University of Ballarat's Adelaide program. He was also Lecturer at the School of Business at BRAC University in Bangladesh, Relationship Manager, corporate banking in a multinational bank and Research Assistant at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bangladesh Office.
