About Me

I received the B.Sc. Eng. (hons.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from Monash University Australia in 2007.Currently, I am working as a Sessional Academic at School of Engineering & Technology, CQ University.

Previously, I worked as an Adjunct Research Fellow at Power and Energy Centre and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Power Engineering Research Group at CQ University. I also worked as a Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology at CQ University. I worked a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). I am also currently working as a tutor at Indigenous Advancement Scheme (IAS) at CQ University for providing learning assistance to the indigenous students.

Background

I completed PhD in Information Technology from Monash University in 2007 and Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1999.


My research focuses on smart grid, renewable energy integration, and electricity demand management issues. I have been extensively using statistical methods such as dynamic regression, exponential smoothing, harmonic regression, autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), state space models and data mining techniques such as neural network combined with wavelet transformed data, support vector machines and fuzzy logic for forecasting electricity demand.


I worked as a researcher with Power Engineering Research Group and Power & Energy Centre at Central Queensland University in 2011-2016.


I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of IT at QUT in a CRC funded project named multi-channel content delivery and mobile personalisation. I published a number of quality conference papers and developed a couple of proof-of-concept demonstrators for innovative services on mobile devices.


I frequently review conference papers and journals articles submitted to quality journals and conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting etc. I also reviewed many book chapters submitted for publication in the books to be published by renowned publishers.
