Course summary

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have the primary responsibility of engaging the customer, maintaining daily store operations and delivering on organisational expectations. They have sound knowledge of product and service offerings. These individuals possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement is required. They work with some independence under limited supervision. Some individuals working at this level are responsible for supervising other team members and monitoring day-to-day workplace operations.

2018 Study Sequence
Online – enrol into two units at a time. However, if students are not working, enrol into a maximum of one unit at a time. If students are working, enrol into a maximum of two units at a time as per the following order:

Course Intakes

2018 Online

There are eleven course intakes for 2018, available monthly from February to December.

Duration and dates
12 months full-time or 18 months part-time


This course is available online with teaching support available through email and telephone. Individual Zoom sessions can be arranged by appointment. Online students require self-motivation and must have 4 hours per week available for study.

Practical Placement Information

It is a requirement of the course that if students are not working in the retail industry they will need to organise work in a volunteer capacity in a retail outlet for a minimum of three (3) hours per shift for the duration of the course (minimum 120 hours).

The voluntary placement will need to be in a retail position which allows access to activities, documents and systems to complete assessment tasks.
