Previous Student Feedback

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

I enjoyed all aspects of this unit, i found it informative and interesting. This unit has been by far the one i have enjoyed the most, especially the clinical practice.

Recommendation

The format of the Unit will continue with appropriate placements sought

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

This was my favorite unit, I engaged really well with the way in which the weekly lectures were delivered. I felt very well prepared to head into clinical placement, our clinical lab residential classes were really well delivered too!

Recommendation

I will continue with the weekly lectures

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

I really enjoyed studying this unit! I found it well structured and easy to follow. The content was interesting and I was excited to start the next week's work. I thought the result/feedback for the assessment came back in a timely manner and when I would contact the lecturers they would always respond promptly. Thank you for making this unit so enjoyable! :)

Recommendation

Will continue

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

I believe we were very well prepared for placement. There was nothing within my scope that I was ensure about.

Recommendation

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

The lay out of the course i found a little strange. I think it would make more sense to have the placement after the exam. Its just I feel that i now, after 12 weeks of learning, I now know more of the theory. i would have been able to apply more of what I've learned more confident in my placement.

Recommendation

An explanation about the delivery of content is discussed in week 1 lecture. It is not possible to cover 12 weeks of content prior to placement. Skills taught in residential school all lead to ability to provide patient care on placement.

Feedback from Have Your Say

Feedback

I feel as though it is such a practical subject, and even if we received fantastic feedback for my clinical placement and the reflection, I may have failed the subject based on the exam, which is really disappointing. I feel like I know everything and my clinical facilitator told me that I'll make a wonderful nurse, but because I have always choked in exams, I could potentially fail the entire subject. I feel like that is one area that may need improvement.

Recommendation

An exam in this Unit is warranted as the content forms the basis for future learning and practice. The fundamentals are vital as a firm starting point. If the student is not confident with knowledge at this early stage, it must be highlighted to allow for a successful carer as a RN

Academic Integrity Statement

As a CQUniversity student you are expected to act honestly in all aspects of your academic work.

Any assessable work undertaken or submitted for review or assessment must be your own work. Assessable work is any type of work you do to meet the assessment requirements in the unit, including draft work submitted for review and feedback and final work to be assessed.

When you use the ideas, words or data of others in your assessment, you must thoroughly and clearly acknowledge the source of this information by using the correct referencing style for your unit. Using others’ work without proper acknowledgement may be considered a form of intellectual dishonesty.

Participating honestly, respectfully, responsibly, and fairly in your university study ensures the CQUniversity qualification you earn will be valued as a true indication of your individual academic achievement and will continue to receive the respect and recognition it deserves.

As a student, you are responsible for reading and following CQUniversity’s policies, including the Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. This policy sets out CQUniversity’s expectations of you to act with integrity, examples of academic integrity breaches to avoid, the processes used to address alleged breaches of academic integrity, and potential penalties.

What is a breach of academic integrity?

A breach of academic integrity includes but is not limited to plagiarism, self-plagiarism, collusion, cheating, contract cheating, and academic misconduct. The Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure defines what these terms mean and gives examples.

Why is academic integrity important?

A breach of academic integrity may result in one or more penalties, including suspension or even expulsion from the University. It can also have negative implications for student visas and future enrolment at CQUniversity or elsewhere. Students who engage in contract cheating also risk being blackmailed by contract cheating services.

Where can I get assistance?

For academic advice and guidance, the Academic Learning Centre (ALC) can support you in becoming confident in completing assessments with integrity and of high standard.
