Establish and record a minimum of three (3) Clinical Learning Goals to be achieved during your clinical placement. Link each clinical learning goal to one of NURS12156 Unit Learning Outcomes. You need to ensure your clinical learning goals are inline with the SMART Goal setting framework. An example is provided on the Unit Moodle site. You then need to develop and document a plan outlining how you will achieve the stated Clinical Learning Goals. Your Clinical Learning Goals are to be shared with your off-campus Facilitator/Preceptor on the first day of placement. Maximum 500 words

The 2018 Competency Performance Assessment requires the completion of 120 clinical hours and demonstration of your ability to perform the nursing role within your scope of practice as measured against the NMBA competencies outlined in the 2018 Competency Performance Assessment document. The required hours of clinical practice must be completed in entirety and a pass grade received in order to be eligible for a pass grade for this Unit. Please see the CQUniversity Clinical Placement Attendance policy for further information.

Part C - Reflection on Learning

The development of resilience is important to learning in the clinical setting as it prepares you to be a strong, creative and forward-thinking nurse. This section of Assessment 3 asks that you reflect on a moment that was personally difficult for you and consider how resilient you were during your clinical placement for NURS12156 Clinical Nursing Practice 2

To complete your Reflection on Learning you need to:

    1. Select one of the reflection models available on the NURS12156 Clinical Nursing Practice 2 Moodle site to use as a framework for your reflection

    2. In no more than 200 words identify and describe a situation or moment that was difficult for you during clinical placement.

    3. View the three resources on resilience available on the NURS12156 Clinical Nursing Practice 2 Moodle site.

    4. Consider the content of the resources when preparing your reflection paper and answer the following questions during your reflection:

        a) What personal strengths did I draw upon to help me during this stressful time while on clinical placement?

        b) What personal coping skills did I use effectively to manage the stressful situations during this clinical placement?

        c) What did I do when on clinical placement that helped to contribute to a happy, collaborative atmosphere?

        d) What other personal and social resilience strategies could I use in the future to prevent, deal with, or change stressful situations and succeed in future clinical placements?

Please use examples from your clinical placement to support your reflections and include references where applicable to support your resilience-focused nursing actions. Please ensure you maintain confidentiality of any person or facility. Be sure to introduce the reflection model and use headings from the reflection model throughout your paper. The reflection model used should be included in your reference list.

Maximum 1200 words

Assessment Due Date

The Clinical Learning Goals, 2018 Clinical Performance Assessment and Reflection on Learning are to be submitted to the Unit Moodle site within 5 working days of completing clinical placement.

Academic Integrity Statement

As a CQUniversity student you are expected to act honestly in all aspects of your academic work.

Any assessable work undertaken or submitted for review or assessment must be your own work. Assessable work is any type of work you do to meet the assessment requirements in the unit, including draft work submitted for review and feedback and final work to be assessed.

When you use the ideas, words or data of others in your assessment, you must thoroughly and clearly acknowledge the source of this information by using the correct referencing style for your unit. Using others’ work without proper acknowledgement may be considered a form of intellectual dishonesty.

Participating honestly, respectfully, responsibly, and fairly in your university study ensures the CQUniversity qualification you earn will be valued as a true indication of your individual academic achievement and will continue to receive the respect and recognition it deserves.

As a student, you are responsible for reading and following CQUniversity’s policies, including the Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. This policy sets out CQUniversity’s expectations of you to act with integrity, examples of academic integrity breaches to avoid, the processes used to address alleged breaches of academic integrity, and potential penalties.

What is a breach of academic integrity?

A breach of academic integrity includes but is not limited to plagiarism, self-plagiarism, collusion, cheating, contract cheating, and academic misconduct. The Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure defines what these terms mean and gives examples.

Why is academic integrity important?

A breach of academic integrity may result in one or more penalties, including suspension or even expulsion from the University. It can also have negative implications for student visas and future enrolment at CQUniversity or elsewhere. Students who engage in contract cheating also risk being blackmailed by contract cheating services.

Where can I get assistance?

For academic advice and guidance, the Academic Learning Centre (ALC) can support you in becoming confident in completing assessments with integrity and of high standard.

What can you do to act with integrity?
