Core Structure

The Bachelor of Science Course has eight compulsory units. Five of the compulsory units are studied in the first year of the course, two of the compulsory units are studied in the second year and one compulsory unit is studied in the third year. One of the second-year compulsory units, BIOL12050 Professional Placement or Project, provides students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills attained in their degree course to the professional work environment.

In addition to the eight compulsory units, students must study one major. The major can be either of the following two disciplines:

The Liberal Studies Minor enables students to compile a Minor of their choice that is consistent with an area of interest and/or career requirements not already covered in the above Majors and Minors. When choosing units for this Liberal Studies Minor, students must ensure that the number of Level 1 units within the Bachelor of Science must not exceed 12. In addition, all prerequisites must be met. Students should also ensure that the Minor consists of at least two Level 3 units.

Students are to consult the Course Advice Team when selecting units for the Liberal Studies Minor.
