Core Structure

Number of units: 32 Total credit points: 192

For the purposes of law accreditation and admission students must complete the LLB course over the equivalent period of three or more calendar years. A standard full-time course load is 8 units per year. It is possible to accelerate completion of the law degree by studying more than 8 units per calendar year. Hence a student may study 10 units in each of their first two years and four units in term 1 of their third year. Students can commence Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at an external provider having completed all of their core units, but with two electives outstanding.

Both the Law and Psychology degrees have core components. Law has 20 core units. Psychology has 12 core units. A total of 32 core units, each being 6 cp = 192 cps. The total credit points for the dual degree is 24 units of Law (144 cps) and 12 units of Psychology (72 cps) making a total of 36 units (216 cps).
