Core Structure

Number of units: 0 Total credit points: 0

CLINICAL MAJOR

This detailed study plan is designed for full-time students who usually enrol in 4 courses per term (24 units of credit).  Part-time students should therefore modify this schedule to suit their own needs.  The normal study load for part-time students is 2 courses per term (12 units of credit).

PMSC11001 will be offered in Term 3 for those students who have failed this course in Term 1, and for the distance education students doing part-time enrolment to expedite their program length.

PMSC12002 will also be offered in Term 3 to assist in expediting the program length for distance education students and for those students who are unable to complete the course in Term 2.  This will be dependent on QAS approval.

Current practising paramedics in ambulance services, private industry or those students who have undertaken a specified program of study with an articulation partner of CQUniversity will be eligible for credit transfer appropriate to an assessment of their prior skills and study.  The level of credit provided to these students and their remaining study plan for completing this program can be provided by the Head of Program or Student Advisor.

 

EMS OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MAJOR

Entry to this major is restricted to current practising paramedics in ambulance services, private industry or those who have undertaken a specified program of study with an articulation partner of CQUniversity. This major is available by Distance study, part-time only.  To undertake this major students must be eligible for an appropriate level of credit (equivalent to 12 courses) based on an assessment of prior skills and study.  Prior to enrolment, an application for credit transfer will need to be made by the student and assessed by the Program Advisor.
