This information will not be available until 8 weeks before term.

This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%).

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Source: Student feedback
Feedback
Poor reception for students due to movement when speaking within the videos.
Recommendation
Minimise movement.
Action Taken
Roving microphone now used.
Source: Student feedback
Feedback
Law material should be that required by CASA.
Recommendation
Not appropriate since this is an AQF 7 level subject. CASA material would be considered around AQF 2/3 level. No change proposed.
Action Taken
Maintain present standard of material for presentation.
Source: Students/Lecturer
Feedback
Students major concern concentrated on the fact the unit material did not specifically align with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority requirements. As unit co-ordinator it is apparent the degree of difficulty for year one students therefore, necessitates this unit be moved into year two or three. The Unit Profile change should remove present reference to CASA material and include a more general reference to CASA material.
Recommendation
This unit profle will be amended as considered necessary and a submission made to HOC the unit be moved to a later stage in the course, either year two or three.
Action Taken
Nil.
