General Information

Unit Synopsis

This unit will develop your understanding of the roles and responsibilities associated with the preparation of contract documents including: Working Drawings; Specifications and specified bills; Schedules including fixtures, door and colour schedules; Integration of Australian Standards in the documentation package. It will introduce requirements for: Client sign-off; Coordination of design and consultancy team members; Implementation of quality procedures; Approvals processes; This unit will also consider the role of: non-traditional documentation forms; performance-based documentation.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%).

More tutorials should be provided to explain how to use Revit
Recommendation
ArchiStar platform will be used to assist students in learning Revit. A Revit user guide will be added to the learning resources. A video on how to install the educational version of Revit will be posted to Moodle unit page.
Action Taken
ArchiStar platform is accessible to all the students of this unit, allowing students to learn Revit. A user guide and video are used to show how to use Revit.

Recommendation
Rubrics will be used to show the detailed requirements for assignments.
Action Taken
The unit coordinator has developed a template for rubrics and adopted it for this unit. The expectations and requirements are shown in the rubrics. Rubrics have been updated annually to follow up the new requirements in the assessment items.

The requirements of the assignment should be clearer.
Recommendation
The lecturer will explain the detailed expectations on assignments in the tutorials. The 1st tutorial of this unit will include a Q&A session on the rubrics to ensure that students and lecturer have a common understanding of the rubrics.
