Unit Synopsis

Early Childhood Education and Care Placement focuses on the legislative and regulatory environment for provision of high quality education and care in early childhood settings. The unit specifically addresses competency elements from Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. In this unit you will navigate National laws and National Regulations related to workplace settings to describe and explain the implications of these regulations on the performance of work roles. You will apply this knowledge to scenarios and simulations and demonstrate competence in providing high quality education and care for children from birth to five years in authentic settings during vocational placement/s.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
