Unit Synopsis

In the Strategic Supply Chain Optimisation unit, you will examine the optimisation of contemporary supply chains, with a focus on refining processes, digitalising logistics systems, and redesigning networks to enhance resilience and sustainability. This unit places significant emphasis on two critical areas: business process re-engineering and value chain analysis within the supply chain context. You will gain deep insights into the complexities of supply chain processes, including the flow of goods, services, information, and finances from origin to consumption. Through this exploration, you will discover effective strategies and technologies that improve operational efficiency and responsiveness. Specialising in business process re-engineering, you will learn how to critically examine and revamp processes within a supply chain to boost organisational performance. Additionally, you will engage in value chain analysis, applying it within supply chain and logistics systems to create value at each step. This will equip you with the skills necessary to foster a competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving business landscape, ensuring you are well-prepared to meet the challenges of modern supply chain management.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
