Unit Synopsis

This unit provides you with the opportunity to examine the context, analytical tools and problem solving methods appropriate to your selected area of specialisation within the course.

Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Term 1 - 2020 : The overall satisfaction for students in the last offering of this course was (on a 5 point Likert scale), based on a 100% response rate.

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Students appreciate the individualised nature of this unit and working closely with their mentoring teams.
Supervision teams have been expanded to include additional staff to ensure that students are well supported on their research journeys.
Action Taken
Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 restructuring at the university a large number of the key postgraduate supervisors in the Transport and Safety Science team have now left the university. The supervision team has therefore been reduced. As this was the last time this unit will be offered, due to the cancellation of the Master of Safety Science courses, no future action is required.
