Unit Synopsis

This unit is the final of two research project units that are compulsory in the CG84 Bachelor of Science (Honours) Course. In this unit, you will finalise your independent research project, commenced in Research Project A.

Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Progress reports embedded in Moodle are well accepted by students and supervisors as a strategy to monitor issues related to timely project completion and to raise supervisory concerns.
Recommendation
It is recommended to continue to use progress reports embedded in Moodle as a strategy to monitor issues related to supervision and on-time project completion.
Action Taken
Progress reports continue to be used as an assessment item to encourage and monitor student/supervisor engagement and project progression.

Feedback
Moodle forums are not well utilised by students to discuss project progression or to engage with the Unit Coordinator.
Recommendation
It is recommended the Unit Coordinator regularly post to the forums on Moodle to initiate engagement with students.
