Short Course in Providing support to children affected by domestic and family violence (ACC00062)

Course summary

This unit describes the knowledge and skills required to provide support and information to children and young people living in a home where domestic and family violence occurs. It requires an awareness of the potential effects of domestic and family violence on behaviour and development. This unit applies to health and community service workers providing services according to established organisation procedures.

These workers may not be specialised family violence workers.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, however this short course is best suited for students who are health and community services workers.

It is recommended that students complete the foundational short course ACC00083 (unit CHCDFV001) prior to completing the specialised short courses ACC00062 (unit CHCDFV002) and ACC00063 (unit CHCDFV004). 

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

On completion of this course, students will receive a Short Course Statement of Attainment.
