Skills needed to work as a gardener or horticulturist in the parks and gardens industry. Tasks covered include: providing information on plants, controlling weeds, pests and diseases, fertilising and maintaining plants carrying out specialised pruning, planning and setting up plant displays, operating irrigation systems, and maintaining natural and revegetated areas.
