The units in this short course form part of the qualification MEM31419 Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic and define the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson - mechanical specialising in diesel fitting and plant mechanics within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. This Stage 2 short course will consist of three (3) units as follows; MEM12024, MEM09002 and MEM18055. These units are required to allow BHP personal to be trained and assessed as part of the Transition to Trade program.
Candidates who successfully complete the required units under the Stage 1 short course will be eligible to enrol into the Stage 2 Transition to Trade gap course.

Candidates who complete the required units with Stage 1 and 2 will be eligible to apply for the Maintenance Associate MA-to-Trade Apprenticeship program. MEM31419 Certificate III in Engineering (Heavy Diesel)
The Stage 2 short course will be trained and assessed and will be completed in one or two cycles (7 days per cycle @9.5 hours per day) prior to the start of the MA-to-Trade program. Once successfully completed the candidates will be eligible to apply for the MA-to-Trade apprenticeship program.
