This qualification applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.
The qualification applies to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters.
Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment is a requirement before the enrolment process. However, a student will be exempt from this assessment if they hold an equivalent or higher qualification. There are no other entry requirements specified.
Suggested prior experience in any of the following:
Students having completed BSB30719 - Certificate III in Work Health and Safety or similar studies may consider undertaking this qualification.
Applicants should have a sound level of computer literacy skills and be motivated and organised to complete the training and assessment in an on-line learning environment.

This course is typically delivered over a 12 month period. Students should allocate approximately 12-15 hours per week of study. However, as it is competency based, it may be possible for learners to complete their training sooner if they have reached the required skill level.

Course intakes for 2021 will be available in the first two weeks of each month, from February to October. See below for the intake dates and allocation of units, inclusive of enrolment periods. Students may enrol in up to the 3 or 4 allocated competencies in each cluster, OR choose to enrol in only one or two units at a time, depending on the study load they wish to take on and when they wish to complete the qualification. The clusters shown below reflect a study pattern that contributes to the completion of the qualification in approximately one calendar year, but students may complete the qualification in a shorter period of time.
