Course Details

Course Summary

This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including administration managers, general office managers and office managers. Individuals in these roles may possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.

This course is currently in transition and being replaced by BSB50120 Diploma of Business.

CURRENT BSB50415 students will need to complete by March 2022, with the last enrolment in January 2022. Students are encouraged to discuss their personal study plan with the teacher. All NEW STUDENTS will need to enroll in BSB50120 Diploma of Business.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, however completion of a Certificate IV or similar qualification is desirable.

VET Student Loan Information

VET Student Loans may be available for eligible students in approved Diploma level qualifications. The loan can be used towards Tuition Fees only and does not cover additional expenses such as textbooks, uniforms, equipment, travel, tools, and accommodation or general living expenses. Loan limits or caps may apply for some eligible courses and where a loan limit is reached for a course, students may be required to pay upfront for any remaining units.

Course Assessment Information

RPL - Students who have previous informal and formal learning need to advise their trainer/assessor prior to enrolment. If the student wishes to apply for an RPL they need to apply to the RPL Centre.
Credit transfer - If credit for relevant formal qualifications is sought, then the process will be actioned after the student has enrolled in at least one unit of competency as directed by the relevant trainer/assessor. The Trainer/Assessor will work with the student on their credit transfer application, and provide advice and support as necessary.

Credit Transfer into CQU Bachelor of Business

CQU will only recognise Diploma students where the full-time Diploma course duration is one year or greater.


ALL CQU TAFE (BSB50415) students may undertake the Bachelor of Business and may choose any single specialisation.


Students with a completed CQU TAFE (BSB50415) will receive 1 year credit and will enter directly into 2nd year of the CQU Bachelor of Business.


CQU TAFE Diploma Business (BSB50415) students will receive the following credit:

  • Eight unspecified electives.

Students must complete remaining 16 units to complete their degrees as follows:

  • Eight core units.
  • Eight units from chosen specialisation.
