Practical Placement Information

Each unit in this course has a practical component. Students who are not already working in a regulated education and care service for example Kindergarten or Long Day Care centre must organise a voluntary work placement. Students who are already employed in a regulated education and care service, can use their existing work to fulfill practical requirements.

All students will need to complete third party reports, practical assessment, and a vocational placement logbook. These observations and reports will need to be signed off by a qualified supervisor with at a minimum, the same level qualification. Students will be required to complete a minimum of 240 hours of placement throughout the duration of the course.

All students will need to hold a Blue Card prior to starting their practical work placement. For more information on the 'Blue Card' visit - https://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au or phone: 1800 113 611. Students not currently working in the industry will need to organise a placement in consultation with teaching staff.

Is what I already know taken into account?
